Our senior Performance Group were invited to be part of the 80th Anniversary Celebrations for the Royal Academy of Dance last weekend. Only a few select schools around Sydney were invited to perform at the 80th Anniversary Gala so we were thrilled to take part! The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) is the largest classical ballet education and examination organisation in the world.
Miss Bernie, Miss Kate and our students Elizabeth Chapman and Josee Wilson were involved in a very special presentation earlier this year as part of the Royal Academy of Dance's Isobel Anderson Awards.
To celebrate Isobel Anderson's 100th birthday, Miss Bernie and Miss Kate - along with Sonja Dene and Fiona Jurd - created a presentation of more than 70 students selected from dance schools around Sydney. Elizabeth and Josee represented Langshaw Dancity in the performance.
Some of our senior students were lucky enough to take part in the ISTD Australian Conference held in the Easter holidays. Our Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 Modern students received coaching from visiting examiner Cheryl Gill and were on hand to demonstrate the work to teachers while Miss Chelsea took part in the new Grade 5 Tap course to learn the brand new syllabus.
We are very proud of two of our intermediate students - Elizabeth Chapman and Josee Wilson - who will perform in a special presentation tomorrow as part of the Royal Academy of Dance Isobel Anderson Awards.
Elizabeth and Josee have given up their Sundays for the past six weeks for rehearsals to be part of the performance which features more than 70 dancers selected from Sydney-based dance schools.
Good luck girls!
A big thanks to all the students and parents who gave up their time today to support a very special event - the Variety Club Christmas Party! We have been involved in this very worthwhile cause for several years and love the chance to entertain some very special kids.
