Hello to everyone,
I hope you all enjoyed a restful and joyous festive season with your families. I wanted to write to you all to let you know my progress battling my condition and my plans for 2018.
Firstly, I would like to thank you all for your heartfelt messages and well wishes. It truly brightens my day when I read your lovely texts and receive the gorgeous gifts and flowers, I’m so thankful to you, my “tribe”! Last year was truly an extraordinary year that did not necessarily end the way I had hoped and planned. And I would like to again take this opportunity to thank you, my students and my teachers for showing me how much you care by putting on such an energetic, passionate and entertaining concert last year. I wish I had the strength to speak with you all after the show, however I was really at a low health point that particular week - Actually I was admitted back into the high dependancy ward of Westmead Hospital the day after the concert.
Over the break I have had some complications connected to aHUS, but I am now so pleased that my hard work and patience are coming are being paid off by my health showing some improvements. I have been in Westmead Rehabilitation Hospital since the beginning of the year really working hard on my mobility and fitness, and I intend to return to teaching as soon as I am able, possibly as early as week 1 or 2 of term 1! I am working closely with Miss Allie and all my teachers to ensure we are all on the same page and working to the same goals.
We have opened enrolments and as usual we have had to make some changes to the timetable to accomodate teacher availability. If you have already enrolled, please check your Parent Portal for the changes and If you haven’t enrolled yet the new class times will be offered to you as a part of that process. Miss Allie has worked very hard on choosing and implementing this new program and I’m sure once we get all the kinks worked out we will see so many benefits from it.
Its such a big year for us, not many dance schools (or other small businesses for that matter) are able to say that they have traded continuously, and maintained such a force in their industry for an incredible 50 years. I am so proud of the legacy I have created, and this year I will be introducing some guest teachers to create new pieces and re-create some of our well known pieces from our 50 year history. And I am proud that for the 5th year in a row all of our teachers are Langshaw graduates.
Our performance groups will have many opportunities to perform this year not only at eisteddfods (Miss Allie will have dates for you in the first week back), but also our Anniversary Cocktail Party and other shows throughout the year.
While I am still in hospital I do have my phone and internet access if you have any questions about this year, concerns with your timetable or would just like to say hello, please don’t hesitate to contact me or Miss Allie.
Looking forward to an incredible 50th year!
We are excited to announce our new enrolment procedure and parent portal is up and running!
